Sneh Community

A Loving & Compassionate Community

Sneh is a loving and compassionate community that promotes a healthy and socially active lifestyle and knowledge sharing.

Sneh Community" was started to provide seniors a common place to get together and interact with their peers. Our members meet regularly to learn new games, practice yoga, go on group walks, and enjoy each others company during various social events. They also get the opportunity to go on different trips ranging from a scenic trip in the Cuyahoga County to a cruise in Alaska. This helps them stay active, be well informed, well entertained and involved in the local community.

In October 2013 the Sneh Community received partnership award from Kegler Brown, Hill & Ritter, a International Highly Reputed Law Firm, for serving seniors of Asian origin in Ohio. We are a 501 (C) 3 (Non Profit / Tax Exempt Charitable Organization).

Today the Sneh Community has over 100 members and meets on a weekly basis and as needed for seminars on monthly basis.

Founder’s story

Sneh Community was started in 2012 by Abha Jindal because of her experience with her mother-in-law, Sneh Jindal.

Dr. Sneh Jindal was an advocate for healthy and peaceful lifestyles. During her time in Columbus, she was active with programs such as ASHA Ray of Hope and Sadhna Spirtual Society. She was also a renowned instructor of meditation techniques and was very active in the community. She also had a passion and desire to help, support and serve the senior community.

In order to continue the work done by Dr. Sneh Jindal and support the seniors in our community, Abha Jindal, initiated to start the Sneh Community. Abha realized the impact that leading a socially active lifestyle and having a community of peers to interact with, has on the senior community.

For this reason, Sneh’s sole purpose is to build a community for any Indian senior looking to be part of a community and to give back to them, in a small way, for all that they have done for us. Sneh started with just 3 families who would just meet up for tea and unorganized discussions. Over the course of the year, Sneh has grown to 60 members and over 40 events, speakers, potlucks, and movie nights. In addition to events, the Sneh Community members have also gone on trips from Cuyahoga County, to West Virginia, Porto Rico, and Alaska.
